Dogfight Rules
Each player will have a point quota equal to 36 minus their handicap, and
accumulates, or loses, points on each hole played. Point values for each
hole are equal to:
Double eagle 12 points
Eagle 7 points
Birdie 4 points
Par 2 points
Bogey 1 point
Double Bogey 0 points
Triple Bogey -1 point
After 18 holes, the players will subtract their point quota from their
accumulated point total to determine their net points for the round
(plus or minus). The player with the highest net point total is the winner.
If you have not holed out when you reach a double bogey on any hole,
pick up and receive minus 1 point on that hole. This will help speed
up play and allow everyone to finish.
On the scorecard, each player will have two lines for his scores. In
the top line, place the player's score made on that hole. On the bottom
line, place the points received for that score (shown above). Use a
minus sign (-1) for triple bogey or worse.
In case of a tie, the player's net points on the front 9 holes will
be used to break the tie. If players are still tied after this, then
the point totals for the #1 handicapped hole will be used to break
the tie, then the #2 handicapped hole, and so on, until the tie is broken.
If players are still tied after this, a coin toss will be used to break the tie.
In case of rain, if all teams have played at least 9 holes, then the
net point total for the number of holes that everyone has finished will
be used to determine winners. If all teams have not finished at least 9
holes, then the tournament will not determine winners.
In case of all teams not finishing their round due to darkness, then
the net points for the number of holes that everyone has finished will
be used to determine winners. If all teams have not finished at least
9 holes, then the tournament will not determine winners.
