I want to thank the 36 players who came out to Willowdale to play in the St.

and I hope that we can continue to increase participation.

Electric Eel).
My apologies to Johnny Wyatt, who was listed as not having paid his dues, but
who actually had paid his dues. Sorry!
Our next outing is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, at Belle Terre with a
noon shotgun start. The format will be a 2-man combined score, low net. There
will be a blind draw for partners. Hope to see you there.
Upcoming changes to the 50/50 drawing. In the distant past, St. John used to
sell 50/50 tickets as $1 a piece or 6 tickets for $5. This was changed some
time ago, so that we only sell tickets as 6 tickets for $5. In order to
simplify the pre-tournament madness that goes on, 50/50 tickets will stay
at the same $5 price, but you will only get 1 ticket. Please realize that
your odds of winning will remain exactly the same, since everyone will get
only 1 ticket instead of 5, but we wont have to tear off 5 tickets at a
time. It will also allow the ticket rolls to last 5 times longer. Also,
due to low turnouts we have only been paying two spots in the 50/50
drawings to increase the payout to our winners. If we get larger tournament
participation, then we will return to paying out 3 places instead of 2.
In advance, thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May Santa bring
us all improved golf swings and short games along with our wishes for the
latest and greatest new equipment.
